Growing up in the small, rural town of Monticello, Mississippi, I always yearned for an “escape” to places that were more interesting and intriguing. I soon learned to create those places through art. After studying art at the University of Southern MS and settling in Hattiesburg, MS in the early 1990’s, I began my journey of making paintings which are usually bold in color and warm in hue.
I like to paint with loose strokes as I attempt to depict the life and personality of my subjects. I love to create art that beautifies it’s surroundings and embraces the viewer. I have a simple prayer, “Let it be pleasing to the eyes...” My goal is to create art that finds a prominent place in the space and heart of those who own it.
